Hello and welcome!
I am Manuela, a birth and postnatal doula based in Bristol since 2020, after living in London for about 15 years. I was born in a lovely little town, in central Italy, with a big sense of community so, caring and helping for others has always been at the centre of my life and I have always made it a life goal.
I have been lucky enough to support many families, over the past 25 years. It’s been an honour to help those families and now, I really can’t imagine a different career for myself.
I am also a volunteer Mother Companion for Bristol Charity organisation called “Project Mama” offering antenatal, birth and early parenting support to birthing people who are asylum seekers, refugees, or have experienced displacement and migration.
Training
I trained as a birth and postnatal doula with Nurturing Birth in 2021 and I have been working as a doula since then. I am also a trained Hypnobirthing instructor.
I am regularly keeping up to date (and taking part) in various workshops and courses for continual professional development.
Interests
Among the things I enjoy most are: cooking, music, hiking, travel, visiting museums, galleries, collecting and creating miniatures and creating pieces of art with the Decoupage technique (especially on glass and wood).
My aim is to empower birthing people (and families) and support them during their entire journey. I would love to offer my services to all birthing people, including the LGBTQ+ community. I believe everyone deserve the support of a doula.
I also speak Italian (mother tongue), Spanish (basic) and Makaton (Level 2).
