Hello and welcome!

I am Manuela, the Caring Doula, a birth (mentored) and postnatal (mentored) doula based in Bristol, since 2020, after living in London for about 16 years. I was born in a lovely little town, in central Italy, with a big sense of community so, caring and helping for others has always been at the centre of my life and I have always made it a life goal.

I have been lucky enough to support many families, postnatally, over the past 25 years. It’s been an honour to help those families and now, I really can’t imagine a different career for myself.

I trained as a birth and postnatal doula with Nurturing Birth in 2021 and I have been working as a doula for the past couple of years. As well as running my own business, I work as a volunteer to help with disadvantaged women in Bristol with the Doula UK Access Fund and Project Mama. I also run a breastfeeding Support Group, in south Bristol, as a volunteer.

I am regularly keeping up to date (and taking part) in various workshops and courses for continual professional development and I am currently training to become a Hypnobirthing instructor.

Among the things I enjoy most are: cooking, music, horse riding, hiking, travel, visiting museums, galleries, theatres, and creating pieces of art with the Decoupage technique (especially painting on glass and wood).

My aim is to empower birthing people (and families) and support them during their entire journey. I would love to offer my services to all birthing people, including the LGBTQ+ community. I believe everyone deserve the support of a doula.

I also speak Italian (mother tongue), Spanish (basic) and Makaton (Level 2).
